Tanana is proud of our students with family members serving in the military!
Forty-five percent (45%) of Tanana Middle School's student body is comprised of military-connected students. We have Tanana families that are serving on active-duty at Eielson AFB and Fort Wainwright, AK Air Guard, DoD personnel, AAFES, and Military Veterans and Retirees!

School Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC)
The Department of Defense provides a Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) at Tanana Middle School!
The School MFLC provides brief, solution-focused, non-medical counseling to active military and their families.
- The School MFLC is a licensed clinician
- Interactions with your child and/or family are kept in the strictest confidence
- No records are kept

A Parent/Legal Guardian Acknowledgement And Consent Letter For Child And Youth Behavioral Military And Family Life Counseling Services must be signed prior to the School MFLC working with any child directly. This letter will be available from the School MFLC or can be acquired at the school. Signing this acknowledgement and consent letter signifies that the parent has read the information regarding the services that the School MFLC provides and gives permission to interact with their child should a need arise for support.
